The problem this course solves
Most of our conversation students share the same story. Years of English at school. Reasonable reading. Netflix without subtitles, mostly. And then a meeting, an interview or a phone call happens — and the words evaporate.
That is not a knowledge problem; it is a practice problem. Speaking is a muscle, and it only grows under load. Our conversation classes are the gym: a safe, small circle where you speak for most of the lesson, every lesson, with a coach correcting form as you go.
How a session runs
- Warm-up rounds (15 min). Quick-fire pair questions to shake off the silence. Nobody gets to sit quietly.
- Topic of the night (45 min). A fresh discussion theme each session — travel disasters, money habits, AI at work, Malaysian food debates — with useful phrases introduced along the way.
- Skill spotlight (20 min). One recurring weak point worked on deliberately: linking sounds, disagreeing politely, telling stories in the past tense.
- Wind-down (10 min). Personal feedback notes from the tutor: two things you did well, one thing to fix before next time.
What changes after a term
- You stop translating in your head before speaking.
- Your answers grow from three words to three sentences.
- You develop repair strategies — what to say when you lose a word, instead of going silent.
- Listening sharpens noticeably, because half of conversation is reacting.
Groups are streamed into two bands — intermediate and upper — so the pace always stretches you without drowning you.
