Questions & answers
Plain answers to the things learners and parents actually ask us. If yours is missing, call, WhatsApp or use the contact form.
Do I need to know my English level before joining?
No. Your free trial doubles as a friendly assessment — the tutor chats with you, tries a few short tasks, and places you in the right group. There is no written exam to sweat over. If you later feel a group is too easy or too hard, we move you at the next natural break, free of charge.
Are classes online, on campus, or both?
Both, for every course. On-campus classes run at our studio on Jalan Telawi 5, Bangsar Baru. Online classes are live (never pre-recorded videos), taught by the same tutors, and automatically recorded so you can rewatch anything you missed or want to review.
How many students are in a class?
Eight at most — in every course, at every level, with no exceptions. It is the single rule the studio was founded on. Holiday camps run one tutor per eight children with a maximum of 24 campers per week.
What happens if I miss a lesson?
Online learners receive the recording automatically the same evening. On-campus learners can join the equivalent online session that week, or book a free 20-minute catch-up slot with the tutor before the next class.
Do you issue certificates?
Yes. Everyone who completes a course receives an Oakforge certificate stating the course, dates, and the level achieved at the final review. Employers and schools in Malaysia know us; if yours needs additional verification, we are happy to confirm directly.
How do payments work?
Group courses are billed monthly in advance. Private tuition is sold in blocks of ten lessons, valid for six months. Camps are paid per week. We accept bank transfer, DuitNow QR, and major credit and debit cards at the studio reception.
Can I get a refund if I stop?
Yes — we would rather you leave happy than stay resentful. Broadly: unused whole weeks of a group course and unused private lessons are refundable with seven days’ written notice. The details, including camp cancellations, live in our Return & Refund Policy.
My English is really basic. Will I embarrass myself?
You will be in a group where everyone is at your level, led by a tutor whose whole job is making beginners feel safe. Embarrassment thrives in classes of thirty; it starves in a circle of eight friendly people making the same mistakes. Most beginners tell us the fear lasted exactly one lesson.
