Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 2 June 2026

These terms form the agreement between you and Oakforge English Studio Sdn. Bhd. (Business Reg. No. 202101038452 (1429801-T)) of Level 2, 18 Jalan Telawi 5, Bangsar Baru, 59100 Kuala Lumpur, whenever you use this website, book a trial, or enrol in a course. Enrolling means you accept them, so please read them once — we have kept them short on purpose.

1. Trials and enrolment

Trial lessons are free, carry no obligation, and include a level assessment. Enrolment is confirmed when you accept our written course offer and the first payment is received. For learners under 18, enrolment must be made by a parent or legal guardian, who remains our contact for all matters concerning the child.

2. Fees and payment

Group course fees are billed monthly in advance; private tuition is sold in blocks of ten lessons valid for six months; holiday camps are paid per camp week. Published prices are in Malaysian Ringgit and include any applicable taxes. If a payment is more than seven days overdue we may pause your place in class until the account is settled; we will always talk to you before doing so.

3. Timetables and attendance

We publish class timetables each month and give at least one week’s notice of routine changes. Missed group lessons are not refunded, but the catch-up options in our Q&A apply (recordings for online learners; the equivalent online session or a catch-up slot for on-campus learners). Private lessons may be rescheduled free of charge up to 24 hours in advance; later cancellations count as delivered.

4. If we cancel

If Oakforge cancels a class (tutor illness, public emergency, unsafe weather), we offer a replacement session first, and a pro-rated credit or refund where a replacement is impractical. If enrolment in a group falls below three learners, we may merge groups or propose an alternative schedule; if none suits you, unused fees are refunded in full.

5. Recordings

Online lessons are recorded so that learners (and parents of young learners) can review them. Recordings are shared only with members of that class and their parents/guardians, are kept for the duration of the course plus 90 days, and may not be republished or shared outside the class. On-campus lessons are not recorded.

6. Conduct

Our classrooms run on kindness: mistakes are welcome, mockery is not. We reserve the right to remove — without refund of the current month — any participant whose behaviour is persistently disruptive, abusive or unsafe, after one clear written warning (immediate removal applies in serious cases). The same standard applies in online classes and in messages to our staff.

7. Materials and intellectual property

Course materials, worksheets, recordings and this website’s content belong to Oakforge or its licensors. You may use them for your own learning; you may not resell, republish or redistribute them.

8. Liability

We carry the responsibility you would expect of a professional studio: we do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else Malaysian law does not allow us to exclude. Beyond that, our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the six months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect losses, or for interruptions caused by events beyond our reasonable control (including internet or power outages affecting online lessons — though we will always arrange a replacement session).

9. Complaints and governing law

Unhappy about something? Tell us first: [email protected] or +60 3-2202 5148 — the founders read every complaint personally. These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Malaysia have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute that cannot be settled amicably.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version always lives on this page; changes that materially affect enrolled students are notified by email at least 14 days before they take effect and do not apply retroactively to lessons already paid for.
