When private beats group
Group classes are wonderful for momentum and morale — but some situations call for a tutor all to yourself:
- A hard deadline. A job interview next month, a visa interview, a conference talk, an oral exam.
- An uneven profile. Strong reading but weak speaking, or fluent chat with chaotic writing — group syllabuses cannot chase your gaps, a private tutor can.
- A hostile calendar. Shift work, frequent travel, unpredictable overtime. Private slots reschedule; group classes do not.
- Privacy. Some senior professionals simply prefer to make their mistakes in front of one person, not seven.
How your plan is built
Your free trial doubles as a diagnostic: the tutor maps your level across speaking, listening, reading and writing, then drafts a lesson plan with milestones. You review it together, adjust the pace and the emphasis, and lessons begin. Every eighth session includes a short re-assessment so the plan follows your actual progress, not the original guess.
